Categories and divisions
Participants compete across three memorisation categories, designed to ensure both accessibility and high standards.
Choose the category that honestly reflects what you have fully memorised and can reliably recite from any point.
30 Juz
Age limit: 30 years born on or after 1 January 1996.
Whole Qur'an memorisation category for advanced participants with complete Hifz.
- Full Qur'an memorisation
- Recitation from any selected portion of the Qur’an
20 Juz
Age limit: 20 years born on or after 1 January 2006.
Top or bottom consecutive memorisation covering two-thirds of the Qur'an.
- 20 consecutive Juz
- Top or bottom section permitted
10 Juz
Age limit: 15 years born on or after 1 January 2011.
Top or bottom consecutive memorisation covering one-third of the Qur'an.
- 10 consecutive Juz
- Top or bottom section permitted
Age requirements
Participants must meet the age eligibility requirements for their selected category at the time of registration.
Proof of age may be requested during the registration or verification process before competition participation.
The standard across all categories
- You must have fully memorised the selected portion at the time of registration — not be in the process of completing it
- You must be able to recite from any point within your selected range if asked by a judge, without preparation or prompting
- Participants are expected to maintain consistent revision and fluency throughout all stages of the competition
Judges do not expect flawless recitation in every exchange. They expect evidence of genuine, deep memorisation that remains consistent under live competition conditions.
A note on category selection
Select the category that accurately reflects what you have solidly memorised — not what you are aiming towards or close to completing.
Registering above your level is not an advantage; the judging process will make any gap in preparation clear.
